Landmarks, landscapes and exhibitors out in force at this year's Home & Garden Show
More than 650 exhibitors are at this year's Home & Garden Show at the IX Center. The 2013 show also features a Garden Showcase in the South Hall which includes elaborately landscaped exhibits inspired by landmarks, such as Cedar Point, Central Park, Augusta National Golf Club, Wrigley's Field and Napa Valley. Also featured is a fully-constructed, 4,000-square-foot Idea Home sponsored by Sherwin-Williams and Cleveland Magazine and built by Perrino Builders will inspire visitors with ways to plan and create their dream house. NARI home improvement show set for Jan. 17-20
The 32nd annual NARI Remodel Ohio Home Improvement Show runs Jan. 17-20 at the I-X Center, 6200 Riverside Drive, Cleveland. The show includes appearances at noon, 3 and 6 p.m. by David Bromstad of HGTV's Color Splash; designer rooms created by local remodelers; dozens of exhibits of local products and services; and a National Pool and Spa show. Visitors can also bid on custom doghouses, with proceeds benefiting the Animal Protective League, and see cooking demonstrations from area chefs. Tickets are $14 for adults, with kids 16 and under admitted free. A $4 discount is available at northeast Ohio Sherwin-Williams stores, and a $2 discount is available at remodelohio.org. Getting a warm and fuzzy feeling is easy.
Long hair, short hair or hairless- there were so many options at the IX center during the Crown Classic dog show. Bill Russett, Show Manager of the Crown Classic Dog Show, said this show brings in some of the top dogs in the country. It was hard to choose a favorite to the uninitiated eye. Champion Langrigg Star of the Stage, a Beagle, defeated 1791 other dogs to win her title. Regardless of the judges picks crowds applauded their favorites in conformation, agility, rally obedience and obedience. Part one of a two-part series
Thousands of dogs and people visited the IX Center for the twenty- second Crown Classic. Bill Russett, Show Manager of the Crown Classic Dog Show, said it is popular with both attendees and those who show their dogs as well. "It is the biggest show in the area" he said, adding that the location and setup makes it easy for everyone. Record crowds filled the IX Center as dogs competed in conformation, agility, rally obedience and obedience. Candidate for president making a stop at the I-X Center on Sunday.
With the presidential race headed down the home stretch, GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney is making a stop in Cleveland on Sunday. As part of the “Rockin’ for Victory Rally,” Romney is scheduled to speak at the I-X Center at 2:15 p.m. Musical guests — including Rodney Atkins, Sam Moore and the Marshall Tucker Band — are scheduled to perform. According to a news release, all those in attendance “will go through airport-like security and should bring as few personal items as possible.” No bags, sharp objects, umbrellas, liquids or signs will be allowed.
