A look back at 2011 through pictures.
The big story in Gates Mills came early in the year, when a dam burst Feb. 28 on the Chagrin River and said flood waters throughout nearby streets. Other photos are from the Gates Mills Branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library, which among its many programs hosted a session making pop-up books. A River Runs Through It was the theme of a June art exhibit at Gates Mills Elementary School that featured the unveiling of a ceramic art mural. The beauty of nature was on display in October when the Gates Mills Garden Club hosted a show.

Program adds 50 million items available for loan.
Cuyahoga County Public Library has collaborated with OhioLINK and SearchOhio to provide patrons with access to about 50 million items from collections of 90 academic libraries in OhioLINK and the resource-sharing network SearchOhio, which connects 19 public library systems throughout the state. "Ohio’s libraries have always explored ways to share resources, expand access and better serve our constituents," said Sari Feldman, executive director of Cuyahoga County Public Library. "But this collaboration between OhioLINK and SearchOhio is especially exciting because it gives Ohioans unprecedented access to millions of additional materials."
