If you are looking to adopt, foster, volunteer or just meet some great animals and animal people, then stop out at PetSmart at Golden Gate between noon and 4 p.m. Saturday. The Public Animal Welfare Society of Ohio will be at the Mayfield Heights PetSmart (Golden Gate Plaza) and the Parma PetSmart (6870 Ridge Rd.) this weekend for an adopt-a-thon. Adopt a cat/kitten this weekend with reduced fees. The stores will have a booth set up inside to adopt cats, kittens, dogs and puppies. This includes all shots and spaying/neutering. Screeners will be available for approving adoptions all day. So you can take your new pet home with you that same day.
