State Sen. Tom Patton a Strongsville Republican who represents the Mayfield-Hillcrest communities, was officially sworn in for his second term as senator for the 24th District during opening ceremonies for the 130th General Assembly Jan. 7. In addition, his colleagues elected him for a second time to serve in the chamber’s No. 3 post, Majority Floor Leader. No independent candidates file to run against Patton, Brady

Republican incumbent State Sen. Tom Patton will face a challenge from Democrat Jennifer Brady this November. Both advanced unopposed in Tuesday's primary. Unofficial results from the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections show Patton received 25,302 votes in the 24th Senate District. Brady, a write-in candidate, garnered 4,645 votes. Because she received more than 50 write-in votes, her name will appear on the November general election ballot. No independent candidates filed to run for the four-year seat. The March 6 primary for the 24th District Ohio Senate seat will be a quiet one, with no opposition on the ballot. Incumbent Republican Tom Patton will advance unopposed to the November general election.  Likewise for Democratic challenger Jennifer Brady, who filed as a write-in candidate.
