State Puts Limit on Prescription Transfers
Consumers now allowed to switch pharmacies only once per year
A change in state law may surprise bargain hunters who regularly switch pharmacies because of coupons and gift cards used as incentives. In a move designed to cut down on errors with prescription transfers, customers are now limited to one transfer a year. "We'll be starting to educate people about that. I think people will be worried. There's not a whole lot of information out there," said Stacey O'Brien, director of the Tri-City Consortium, which serves Mayfield Heights, Highland Heights, Lyndhurst and South Euclid.
