Social Media users say the Mayfield Service Department aided in finding the dog
Preston, the dog who ran away from his owner three weeks ago in a Highland Heights parking lot, is now back home. The message his social media Friday afternoon, and details on how and where he was recovered are murky for now. People on Facebook credited the Mayfield Heights Service Department for the rescue. A message for Service Director Andrew Fornaro was not returned on Friday. The above image was posted on the Facebook page of Northeast Ohio Rescues, an organization that helped publicize Preston's absence. Preston, the dog who ran from his owner nine days ago in a parking lot, is still on the loose, despite a couple confirmed sightings. "Confirmed sighting of Preston. In housing area behind Heinen's on 91(Som Center), off Wilson Mills Rd. About 30 minutes ago," read a Facebook post from Northeast Ohio Rescues, the group that helps find lost animals throughout the region. A police officer spotted the dog, according to the post. Another user in contact with the dog's owner said the mother saw him Monday on the side of Interstate 271 near the Lander Road overpass, but the dog again ran away. It's been nearly a week since Preston's owner was with him in a Highland Heights parking lot. According to his 'missing' listing on Northeast Ohio Rescues' Facebook page, Preston ran off from the parking lot of Kohl's and Home Depot about 11:30 a.m. on Sunday. The post said somebody spotted the dog on Monday in Alpha Park, but he ran off again. The dog is described as scared, shy and timid. I, too, drove around constantly looking for Preston. I believe he lives in my nieghborhood (Richmond Heights) and I couldn't bare to keep seeing his "missing" photo on the various poles in the neighborhood. HORRAY!   more ›
