Mayfield Library Offers English as a Second Language Class
Course starts on Jan. 4
Foreign-born area residents looking to brush up on their English skills can take free classes at the Mayfield Library. Starting Jan. 4, the library will offer English as a Second Language classes from 12:30 to 3 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Aaron Schlesinger, public service librarian for adults, said it expects it to be a popular class. "We partner on it with Adult Basic Literacy Education. They get the funding and we partner with them to give them space. With the Russian population in the area, we knew that we wanted to bring them in here," he said.
