My Top 5 Wish List for Cleveland Browns Coach

After Pat Shurmur's firing, I let my mind wander about who could be the next head coach. Here's what I came up with.

I called for Shurmer's firing last season, and while it took an extra year, it finally happened.  On Monday the Cleveland Browns let go of Head Coach Pat Shurmer, along with General Manager Tom Heckert. To be honest, I do feel bad for Shurmer. He was put in a tough spot. He came in with no time to work with his team due to the lockout and because, well, it is the Cleveland Browns we're talking about; no coach comes in without something going terribly wrong. Still, it did not seem like Shurmer was a good fit for the team and the city. And his putrid play-calling didn't help him much.  Let's be real here: If you have eight yards for a first down, don't throw a two-yard crossing route! Who Should Replace Pat Shurmur and Tom Heckert?

It has been reported today that the Cleveland Browns' head coach and General Manager Tom Heckert have been fired on Monday.

We all saw it coming after the Cleveland Browns 24-10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday, but it was confirmed on Monday: Head Coach Pat Shurmer and General Manager Tom Heckert are gone. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported through Twitter Monday morning that both had been fired after a less-than-stellar 5-11 season. Shurmer had a dismal 9-23 record over his first two seasons as the head coach. He took the position in 2011. Heckert was hired in 2010. With Shurmur out the door, the Browns will begin their search for a new head coach immediately.
