Holiday parade, musical program and more
1. Musical Soundscapes: Touring the World Through Sampling, for ages 11-18, will be offered at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Cuyahoga County Library Mayfield Branch, 6080 Wilson Mills Road. Professional audio engineers from Progressive Arts Alliance will work with students to create their own recordings of audio samples taken from musical styles around the world. Independence Day celebration, Neighborhood Watch and more
1. Mayfield Village will have its Independence Day celebration on Saturday. Parkview Pool will have entertainment from noon to 5 p.m. – regular pool admission applies. There will also be bingo in the community room from 7-9 p.m., a disc jockey at the gazebo from 8-10 p.m. and fireworks at dusk. 2. 1. Hillcrest Hospital has a gift basket raffle this week to benefit the American Heart Association. Hillcrest area hosts Relay for Life, Cruise Night and more
1. The Mayfield Village Fabulous '50s Cruise Night will be from 6-10 p.m. Saturday at SOM Center and Wilson Mills roads. There will be free trolley rides from Beta Drive and Mount Vernon Square to the gazebo. 2. The 10th annual Relay for Life of the Hillcrest Area will be from noon Saturday until 8 a.m. Sunday at Mayfield High School. The event will include a performance by the band Run Avril Run, a cornhole tournament, kids games and crafts and contests. 3. 1. The Highland Heights Memorial Day program will start at 10 a.m. at the Veterans Peace Memorial at the east end of the city hall complex at 5827 Highland Road. 2. Mayfield Heights Memorial Day services will be at 10 a.m. at the Roll of Honor Memorial in the eastern parking lot at city hall, 6154 Mayfield Road. 3.
