MAP: Shaker Streets To Close Wednesday for Fireworks

Shaker Heights Police release traffic plan for 4th of July fireworks show

Shaker Heights Police announced that Shaker Boulevard eastbound will be closed between Warrensville Center Road and Belvoir Oval beginning at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The closure is in preparation for the 4th of July fireworks that will take place at Shaker Middle School Wednesday night, they added. Foot traffic will be allowed in part of the closed street, and show-goers can sit and stand up to 400 feet from the fireworks launch site. Three other streets will be closed beginning at 8 p.m., listed below: The department's Twitter account @ShakerHtsPolice announced the closure Tuesday and Chief Scott Lee said that the department would try to keep residents up-to-date on the latest closures throughout the day through the account.

What Are Your Favorite Patriotic Tunes?

Tell us your favorite patriotic songs and we'll create a July 4 Spotify playlist.

My country 'tis of thee, sweet land of liberty... The songs of our country's freedom are often played when fireworks are shooting off into the sky. And we've always wondered who can hear them with loud bangs all around? So we want to know what your favorite patriotic songs are so you can play them loud and clear whenever you want: during a cookout, in your car or, heck, even when you march in place in the shower. Leave your favorite song in the comments and we'll whip up a Spotify playlist and share it with you on July 4. Get your songs into us by July 2 so we have enough time to put the list together. Can't wait to see what you recommend!
