Community Unity Days: Five Things to Know
Here are few things to know about the performances, food and fun that will hit Mayfield Heights this weekend.
The week of carnival rides, contests and live music in Mayfield Heights has arrived.
The 20th annual Community Unity Days begins at 5 p.m. Thursday Aug. 8. The event continues from 5 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and from 2 to 7 p.m. on Sunday. Here are five things to know about the event. Learn more about it in the official Unity Days brochure.
- Rides are $1 per ticket, with several ticket packages including 24 for $20.
- Popular student musicians from the school district will perform for the Community Unity Days crowd. Evolution, the band that took second place in this year's Tri-C High School Rock-Off, hits the stage at 5:15 p.m. Friday at the main tent near Dragga Field. Sweta Datta, winner of Mayfield Middle School's M Factor, performs at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
- A roster of area restaurants awaits those who will come to the event with an appetite. Local vendors include Arrabiata's, Master Pizza, Piccolo Italian Restaurant, Panini's, Corbo's Bakery and Gaetano's.
- Fireworks begin at dusk on Saturday night.
- The Community Unity Days parade starts at 1 p.m. Sunday, an hour before rides open. The parade begins on Mayfield Road at the Greens of Lyndhurst and continues to Golden Gate.
