MobilePack Volunteers Make 100,000 Meals At Cornerstone Community Church

Food packed in Mayfield Heights will benefit 70 countries

In the span of four two-hour shifts spread between weekend, more than 500 registered volunteers made 100,000 meals for starving children across the world.

"We want to give those children a future, we want to give them hope and let them know that people care about them," said Kevin Culp, member of Community Cornerstone Church in Mayfield Heights where the event, or MobilePack, was hosted.

The Mobilepack was sponsored by Feed My Starving Children, a non-profit organization hosting similar events throughout the country. The food pack during the weekend will go to 70 countries across the world to malnourished children.

The meals the children are getting are a dehydrated rice, vegetable, soy and vitamin powder mix that just needs water added to it.

At 22 cents per meal, the church raised $22,000 to pay for all the food.
