Hillcrest Hospital Hosts 'Celebration of Lights'

Auxiliary presents annual holiday tree lighting ceremony.

Forget about Black Friday – "Celebration of Lights" is the event that rings in the holiday season, according to Rose Marie Brigneli, president of Hillcrest Auxiliary.

"To me, this is the real start of the holiday season," she said Thursday night at the Celebration of Lights program, a benefit sponsored by the auxiliary.

Speaker at the event included hospital President Jeffrey A. Leimgruber, Pastor James Caddy and Mayor Gregory Costabile.

"It's these types of community events that really inspire the vibrancy in people," Costabile said.

Clinical nurse specialist Molly Loney said she has enjoyed the ceremony and holiday lights during her 11 years working at the hospital, but it became even more special in the last two years since she was diagnosed with cancer.
