Photos of the Week: Wildcats Getting Ready For Season

Mayfield completed its first week of two-a-days before its upcoming opener against Nordonia

If nothing else, the Mayfield Wildcats football team will certainly make its weight requirements after sweating out in the heat and humidity after the first week of two-a-day practices.

In fact, it’s been so hot that the team is conducting its practices at the high school between 7 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. without a real afternoon session as would’ve normally been the case, according to the school’s athletic office.

The Mayfield Wildcats are attempting to bounce back from its second consecutive 6-4 season without a playoff berth and open the season at Nordonia on Aug. 24. Coach Larry Pinto will lead the team for the 15th straight season and .
