WATCH: Mayfield Sixth Grader Discusses Career Opportunities

Abby Withrow was one of several students who left career day with a new outlook

When students emerge from career day with a new-found respect for a certain profession, the event has to be considered a success.

The recent career day at Mayfield Middle School featured nearly 50 guests, and students were assigned three random professionals to visit with during the one-hour-and-15-minute session. For some students, the third time was the charm. That's when they met Elizabeth Villanyi, a clinical dietitian at University Hospitals Ahuja Medical Center in Beachwood.

Villanyi's message to students that the dietitian is needed everywhere — at nursing homes, on professional sports teams and at governmental agencies — resonated with students like sixth grader Abby Withrow. Watch Abby briefly discuss her thoughts after learning more about career opportunities.
