Mayfield Schools Honors Students' Accomplishments

Several students were recognized Wednesday at the Mayfield Schools Board of Education meeting Wednesday for a variety of awards and accomplishments they achieved during the past month. Here's a breakdown a list of the students and groups:

Mayfield Excel Students of the Month

• Mitsuki Fukamachi, a junior tennis standout and winner of the National Science Award at l

• Ericka Pugel, a junior member of the Mayfield National Honor Society and varsity cheerleader and softball starter

Fifth & Sixth Grade Science Olympiad Team

The team earned fifth place out 12 competing teams at a regional competition in March at Cleveland State University. The board recognized the following students for winning various individual awards: Leslie Brown, Laura Gorjanc, Michael Graziano, Zach Kallmeyer, Ana Kasumov, Trenton Lam, Alex Newman, Nicholas Pace, Nadina Popoviciu, Elizabeth Shneyderman, Samantha Tam, Polina Yagusevich, Ilya Yatsishin, Alex You and JaeYoung Yu.

 Design Squad Team

This engineering team took third place out of 12 schools in March at a WVIZ/Ideastream competition. Team members recognized were:
