About 200 Mayfield Middle School students, parents and staff members raised more than $5,000 Friday to support cancer research.

They did it as part of the Beautiful Lengths program, and idea that began a few years ago as a fun activity created by teacher Adam Yasenosky, but has now grown into a community event with Mayfield salon Michael Christopher supplying stylists and organizations like the Cleveland Browns also chipping in to give back.

Yasenosky and 7th-grader C.J. Andrews discuss the impact of the event in the above video.
