Mayfield High Principal Remembers Andrew Revello

Mayfield High School Principal Tony Loewer said Andrew Revello was well-liked and excelled at academics and sports.

Mayfield High School Principal Tony Loewer's reflections on Andrew Revello drive home just how bright his future was before he died this week.

Loewer remembers Revello as a student who excelled at nearly everything he tried through his 2009 graduation from Mayfield High School.

"Andrew was a very good student in high school with about a 3.5 GPA," the principal said. "He was just a tremendous athlete, the best player on the high school baseball team and led them into regionals. He was an outstanding basketball player and golfer.

"Really, just super talented, and that's why he got a scholarship."

Revello, 22, died from injuries related to a crash he was involved in on June 1 in Butler Township, Pa. Revello had been playing for the Butler Blue Sox in the Prospect League this summer.

Loewer also expressed condolences for the Revello family, especially Andrew's sister, Maria, who graduated from Mayfield in 2012.

"He was a pretty quiet kid, but very well liked," Loewer said. "(He came from) a
great family with great community members.

"It's a tragic loss both for their family, the community and everybody who knew Andrew."

His funeral is at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 15, at St. Paschal Baylon Parish. Friends will be received at the church an hour before the service.
