Find out which positions are being filled at schools throughout the district.

As part of its first summer meeting, the Mayfield City Schools Board of Education approved six tentative teacher, counselor and specialist assignments and contracts.

All are one-year, limited contracts for the 2013-14 school year, effective Aug. 26.

Here are the appointments:

  • Michael Reinhard, intervention specialist at Mayfield High School, $43,957
  • Zachary Weagley, intervention specialist at Mayfield High School, $51,081
The board also approved eight staff members to instruct the summer school program.

Superintendent Dr. Keith Kelly lauded the work and selections of human resources director Dr. Michael Barnes.

"We have a nice balance of years of experience at some salaries where we start to realize savings, in terms of replacements," Kelly said. "We audit every position as the position exits the system to determine whether or not it needs to be replaced."
