She will finish the school year with Brunswick Schools, where she serves as assistant superintendent, and joing Mayfield effective August 1.

"Restructuring is critical to the health and longevity of the district," Kelly said. "We have to be agile enough to face the new changes of public education. This is forward thinking.

Magyar will lead the curriculum department when the current Director of Curriculum Susan Beatty retires. She will also serve as the link to the superintendent and board of education between central office directors.

Magyar began her schooling at Center Elementary and graduated from Mayfield in 1988.

"I am truly excited," Magyar said. "For me it's always about giving back to Mayfield. I was prepared for life when I graduated college because of the foundation I was given at Mayfield. I want to be that example of hard work and achievement for the kids at Mayfield.

"They have a great future ahead of them."
