Aric Floyd was a finalist in the event that featured 58 regional winners competing in New York

Hawken junior Aric Floyd said acting was his favorite interest of all that he excels at, and it showed last weekend in New York.

Aric was named a finalist at 30th season of the English-Speaking Union National Shakespeare Competition. Aric placed as one of 10 finalists at the event held on April 22 at the Lincoln Center in New York.

Aric was one of 58 regional winners at the event. He qualified earlier this year by winning the Cleveland Branch of The English-Speaking Union. He performed a Shakespearean sonnet and monologue at the national competition.
