Halloween Window Painting Contest Winners Named

13th annual Halloween Window Painting Contest attracted 41 student participants who painted windows at 31 area businesses.

Students in grades six to eight had to submit a Halloween drawing to their art teacher for review in order to enter the contest. Windows were judged on neatness, creativity and appeal. Winners received gift certificates and prizes from local merchants and the Mayfield Village Parks and Recreation Department.

seventh-graders Alicia Raffa and Natalie Pray won first place with "The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" at the Cuyahoga County Public Library .

Second place went to seventh-grader Julie Brzozowski of St. Paschal for "Painting the Pumpkins Orange" at the in Mayfield Heights.

The third place winner was seventh-grader Jenna Josell for the "Flaming Skull" at in Mayfield Heights.

Lexi Minadeo and Andrea Melaragno, sixth-graders at Mayfield Middle School, were in fourth place with "Pumpkin Patch" on in Mayfield Heights.

In fifth place was Mayfield Middle School eighth-grader Scott Dlugos, who painted "Vampire Mansion" on the window.
