Future of Old Mayfield Library Property Remains Uncertain

The future of the old Mayfield Library on Wilson Mills Road remains uncertain following a relocation a few weeks ago.
Staff members and volunteers moved the collection and machinery from the former location to an $11.7 million library at 500 SOM Center Road. Mayfield City Schools owns the building at 6080 Wilson Mills Road, but officials have not decided what to do with property.
"The site is being evaluated for a future educational use," district spokeswoman Laurie Uhlir said. "No decisions or plans have been discussed.

"It’s merely the “brainstorming phase.”
The response leaves the door open to a myriad of options that could center around one or multiple areas of education or serve a purpose for extra curricular activities.
