Running for office

So it is that time of season again, that time where the politicians tell us the voters why they should have the power to make laws and take a pay check from the tax payers of the Community, County and State.  Not to mention the union as a whole if that politician is running for a national set.

I have been reading and hearing a lot of half truths on this site and other areas about the candidates.  Things about were they where and who they were getting a backing from. Things also about what they want to see and do in the city or around the area.  I also like “I have or will never talk bad about someone” in one sentence and in the next paragraph they do what they say they weren’t going to do.

Like me, you have heard them talk about how helping the people makes them feel good about themselves and how their work in private, public sectors, and volunteer work make them the best person for the job.  That is all fluff to make us not question who or what they are about.

It is time to question who these people are and why they really want the seat.  We should stop and look deeper into the people and question Who, What, Where and How.  If they are not going to be honest or only tell half truths, what else are they going to do once they are in that seat?  Does Mayfield need other replay of the last mayor?  It is time to look at people on their character and not just their lip service.

I guess if I had to put a song to this letter it would be Carly Simon’s You’re So Vain.

If you thank this is about you and you are running for office or in office now, then you need to question why.
