Highland Heights bestows a commendation on two-time state wrestling champion
Two-time Ohio state high school wrestling champion George DiCamillo received a commendation from Highland Heights City Council at Tuesday’s regular meeting.
DiCamillo, who lives in Highland Heights and attends St. Ignatius, won at 120 pounds this year and at 112 pounds in 2011 to complete his second consecutive undefeated season. He also took third place in 2010 (103 pounds) and seventh in 2009 (103 pounds).
DiCamillo began wrestling at age 7 for the Mayfield Wrestling Club which is coached by Highland Heights residents Tony Khas and Mike Jiannetti.

The senior grappler is a three-time Ironman Wrestling Champion and ranked No. 1 in the nation for 2012 by Open Mat, Amateur Wrestling News, USA Wrestling Magazine and InterMat Wrestling.
DiCamillo also earned a 3.5 GPA at St. Ignatius and will wrestle at Virginia in college.
