Mayfield Heights Unveils New City Website

More information, features available to residents

The new website for the city of is now online, providing what Mayor Gregory Costabile referred to as "one-stop shopping" for residents and businesses.

"As expected, we're very proud of the initial unveiling," said Gregory Costabile. He said some changes still need to be made, including the addition of a calendar of events.

Skoda Minotti was hired to redesign the city's site for a cost not to exceed $10,000. Costabile said one major change is that all updates will now be done by city employees.

"Years ago, you paid an outside provider to manage your website," Costabile said. "We have people trained internally to upload our own information."

That will result in more frequent updates, which visitors will be able to spot quickly through a "recently added" section on the home page. There also is a list of most popular links.

"It's a lot more of what we had," Costabile said. "There will be more as it progresses."

He said the colorful website markets Mayfield Heights as a vibrant community and will help when it comes to attracting new residents and businesses.

"It shows that this is a city that's really together," Costabile said.

It also features photos of hot spots, such as the park gazebo and City Hall.

"Even with a government, you get into branding. We have our look, such as the script 'Mayfield Heights' that gives us an identity," Costabile said.

The website is designed to save time, but providing information and forms for permits and registration for Parks and Recreation Department programs.

"A young mother with multiple kids who lugs them around everywhere they can stay home and sign up online," Costabile said.
