The interviews will be held at two special meetings this week, beginning tonight

Mayfield Heights City Council has announced two special meetings this week to interview more candidates for the governing body's vacancy.

Council's first interview session will be held at 5 p.m. today at city hall. The second will begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

Council is expected to interview four more candidates — Wayne Farinacci, Marty Kelbel, Jeff Likover and Benjamin Stocum — though the city did not announce who will be interviewed at which sessions this week.

Council interviewed Realtor Susan Sabetta and Mike Ballistrea, the manager of Hillcrest Hospital's Nuclear Medicine and PET Imaging department, following the regular council meeting last week.

The vacancy on Council was created when Council President Anthony DiCicco became city mayor after the previous mayor, Gregory Costabile, who resigned in a plea agreement with Cuyahoga County prosecutors in response to an investigation on the money he received from two firms who did business with the city.
