Highland Heights Voters Re-Elect Mayor Scott Coleman

Defeats Council President Scott Mills.

Mayor won by about a 3-1 margin in his re-election bid Tuesday against Council President .

He attributed the victory to a strong track record during his eight-year tenure as mayor and said residents are happy with how the city is being run.

"I think people don't see a need for a change," Coleman said.

While disappointed with the outcome, Mills said his family was 100 percent behind him and he was grateful for all of his supporters. He said the result apparently indicated that voters were happy with the status quo.

"I think there was a lot of miscommunication out there," he said.

Mills added that he expects to run for council again in two years and will remain active in the city.

"It'll just be in a little different role," he said.

The vote totals, according to final, unofficial results from the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections, were:
