Highland Heights Officials Take Oaths of Office

First City Council meeting of new year set for 2012.

About 100 people showed up at the on Monday night for what Mayor Scott Coleman referred to as "the show."

The city's elected officials took their oaths of office in an inauguration ceremony that included an invocation by the Rev. John Thomas Lane of .

As the one new elected official, Brunello was a center of attention. He led the voting in November among the four candidates for council at large.

Coleman also discussed the past year and said his re-election showed the pride residents have in their city and a dislike for negative comments made during the campaign.

"I promise I will always do what I think is in the best interests of the city," Coleman said.
