Highland Heights Council Has New President
Cathy Murphy to lead council in 2012.
After Tuesday's City Council meeting, members decided that Cathy Murphy would be council president in 2012.
Murphy, who was unopposed in this year's Ward 1 election, was been a member of council since 2004 and previously served as council president.
Scott Mills served as council president this year and Tuesday's meeting was his final one as a council member. He gave up his council seat to run against Mayor Scott Coleman.
Murphy, 58, is an attorney and graduate of the University of Michigan and Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
An inauguration of all of city's elected officials is scheduled for 7 p.m. Dec. 26 at the , 5827 Highland Rd.
