Mayfield Village Independence Day Celebration
Where/When: Mayfield Village, various locations, noon to 10 p.m. Saturday
Why Go: Parkview Pool will have inflatables, a clown, magician and more from noon to 5 p.m. (regular pool admission applies), the community room will have bingo from 7-9 p.m., there will be a disc jockey in the gazebo from 8-10 p.m. and fireworks at dusk

Gates Mills Fourth of July Parade
Where/When: Village Center, 11 a.m. Monday
Why Go: Annual parade – this year's theme is "Celebrate Village Life" – will line up at Gates Mills Elementary School at 10 a.m. There will be a refreshment stand open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Epping Road and Main Street with hot dogs, chips and pop
Price: Free (charge for refreshments)
Live at Legacy
Where/When: Legacy Village, Cedar Road, Lyndhurst, 7-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday
Why Go: Performances by pop/dance band Discovery Band on Friday and the the Swamp Boogie Band on Saturday

Cleveland Shakespeare Festival
Where/When: James A. Garfield National Historic Site, 8095 Mentor Ave., Mentor, 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday
Why Go: The classic tragedy Othello will be performed on Saturday and the romantic comedy Love's Labour's Lost will be featured on Sunday
