Four Vie for Three At-Large, Highland Heights Council Seats

Find out who filed for the November election in Highland Heights.

While all seven Highland Heights City Council seats are up, only four of the figure to be tight in the November election.

Four candidates will vie for the three at-large seats, while two will battle for the Ward 3 position, according to filings with the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections. Ward 1 councilwoman Cathy S. Murphy and Ward 2 councilman Leo R. Lombardo are running unopposed in their re-election bids.

Highland Heights attorney Ann D’Amico is running unopposed for the Ward 4 seat. Ward 4 has opened up because current councilwoman Lisa Marie Stickan has filed for an at-large seat. D'Amico last served on Highland Heights' council in 2005, according to the Sun News.

Joining Stickan in the quest for an at-large seat are incumbents Chuck Brunello Jr. and Edwin Hargate. Highland Heights resident Sean Milroy is also running for one of the seats.

Rose Burrello-Gype, a funeral director and Highland Heights resident, will take on incumbent Bob Mastrangelo for the Ward 3 seat.
