Dragga Pool Season Ends Early, Passes Permitted at Parkview

Both pools have low staffing as the season winds down, so guards will all work at Parkview through this Sunday.

Mayfield Heights officials announced Monday that Dragga Pool has closed two weeks early.

Releasing the news on Facebook and the city website, the closure was first chalked up to "unforeseen circumstances." After a few residents commented, the city said staffing was the issue. Residents with passes will be permitted to use them at Parkview Pool in Mayfield Village.

"Neither MH or MV had enough guards to keep the pool open," the person manning Mayfield Heights Facebook page wrote. "Instead of closing both pools, the remaining guards were combined and will work at Parkview Pool.

"This will allow our city to assess needed repairs in order to be prepared for opening day 2014."

Parkview closes for the season this Sunday, Aug. 25. Dragga was previously scheduled to close for the season on Labor Day.

Daily admission at Parkview is $5. The pool is open from noon to 8 p.m. on weekdays and from noon to 7 on weekends.
