Barnes Unopposed in Ohio House 12th District

Mayfield Heights will be part of district in 2013.

Democrat John E. Barnes Jr. was unopposed in Tuesday's primary for the Ohio House 12th District.

No Republicans filed to enter the race. Unless a write-in candidate surfaces, Barnes will also be unopposed in the fall general election. In Tuesday's primary, Barnes received 10,820 votes, according to unofficial results from the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections.

A graduate of the Case Western Reserve University Weatherhead School of Management, Barnes has served as the 12th District representative for the past two years.

As of January 2013, the communities in the 12th District will be , Pepper Pike, Orange, Highland Hills, Warrensville Heights, North Randall, Maple Heights, Bedford Heights and Bedford.
