5 Things You Need to Know This Week

Independence Day celebration, Neighborhood Watch and more

1. will have its Independence Day celebration on Saturday. Parkview Pool will have entertainment from noon to 5 p.m. – regular pool admission applies. There will also be bingo in the community room from 7-9 p.m., a disc jockey at the gazebo from 8-10 p.m. and fireworks at dusk.

2. The Neighborhood Watch group will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Ross DeJohn Community Center, 6306 Marsol Road. Meetings are open to the public.

3.  Eat Pray Love will be shown at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Ross DeJohn Community Center, 6306 Marsol Road, Mayfield Heights, as part of the Senior Movie Matinee series. Admission is free. Snacks will be provided by Senior Independence.

4. City Council will meet at 8 p.m. Tuesday at city hall, 5827 Highland Road. The agenda includes the park barn pavilion, gazebo, park road resurfacing and a new fire alarm system for the municipal complex.

5. The Highland Heights Charter Review Commission will meet at 8 p.m. Wednesday. Members are finalizing recommendations for charter amendments to be placed on the fall ballot.
