5 Things You Need to Know This Week

Neighborhood Watch, gardening and city council meetings

1. The Mayfield Heights Neighborhood Watch group will have its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Ross DeJohn Community Center, 6306 Marsol Road. The meeting is open to the public.

2. Mayfield Village Council will meet at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Civic Center, 6622 Wilson Mills Road. Council' s Finance Committee will meet from 7:30-8 p.m.

3. Highland Heights City Council will meet at 8 p.m. Tuesday at 5827 Highland Road. The agenda includes a resolution honoring retired Detective Sgt. Gary McKee and motions to pay for a detailed flood plain study.

4. Cleveland Botanical Garden staff will give a talk on Ohio Gardening at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Cuyahoga County Public Library Mayfield Branch, 6080 Wilson Mills Road. Registration is required. To register, click here.

5. Become a LEED Green associate with a at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at 739 Beta Drive, Mayfield Village. Tim Panzica of Panzica Construction will lead the session on how to present green building concepts and strategies. The session is open to the public and costs $55. Call 440-442-4300.
