5 Things You Need to Know This Week

1. Mayfield City School District will host a Science Showcase from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Mayfield High School Science Wing. Events include the annual Cardboard Boat Regatta in the pool, a demonstration of the interdependence of organisms in an ecosystem, mousetrap cars and model submarines, spaghetti buildings designed to withstand earthquakes and more.

2. Gilmour Academy's hockey team is one of four competing for the state title in Columbus this weekend. They will play St. Edward at 3 p.m. Saturday, with the winner advancing to the championship game at noon Sunday.
