Highland Heights firefighters/paramedics rescued two people from a flipped-over SUV Tuesday afternoon near the intersection of Brainard and Wilson Mills roads.

"They were both conscious and talking on their way to (Hillcrest Hospital)," Highland Heights Police Sgt. Joseph Stella said.

As Stella describes in the attached video, the crash occurred around 12:20 p.m. when the driver hit one of several large rocks that sit on the grass adjacent to Brainard's southbound lane. The car flipped, leaving the driver and passenger trapped. Stella said the cause remains under investigation.

"It was very quick. (The fire department) did a great job at stabilizing them, removing them from the vehicle," Stella said.

Highland Heights received mutual aid from Mayfield Heights and Lyndhurst.
