The man who robbed Huntington Bank in Shaker Heights Thursday afternoon is also a suspect in six other bank robberies in the area, according to information from the Cleveland FBI.
Since Oct. 26, the man is accused of robbing banks in Cleveland Heights, University Heights, Cleveland, and Lyndhurst.
Most recently, the man, described as black, approximately 6 feet tall and 230 to 250 pounds, robbed Huntington Bank on Fairmount Boulevard in Shaker Heights just after 4:30 p.m. Nov. 15.
The man, just like he did in the Cleveland Heights robbery, presented a note that the bank was being robbed and wore a white powdery substance or paint on his face. He was wearing a hat with ear flaps.
When he robbed the Lee Road Ohio Savings Bank, witnesses said he gestured toward his jacket as if he had a gun, but did not reveal a weapon.
No injuries have been reported in the robberies.
Anyone with tips should contact the Cleveland FBI office at 216-522-1400. Tips can remain anonymous. Reward money is available "for the successful identification and prosecution of the individual(s) responsible for these bank robberies," the FBI wrote.
