Police Blotter: Young Child Hit By Car Walks Away

Child struck by car
A young girl was hit by a car and suffered knee abrasions on Worton Blvd. at 5:54 p.m. on June 7. The girl got up and walked from the scene and didn't appear to need emergency medical assistance. Another child ran off to get assistance. The driver did stop, and the officer at the scene noted the child had left. The officer searched for the child and found the correct home on Miner Rd.
False information

A CheckSmart employee on Mayfield Rd. reported a man attempting to open a loan using false information at 6:58 p.m. on June 6. The 6-0 man was bald wearing a white T-shirt. The man attempted to pull out of the parking lot just as police arrived. The man’s car was towed.
Stolen alcohol

Police were called to the SunMart on Mayfield Rd. to investigate three girls who had stolen alcohol on June 9 at 10:58 p.m. It was unknown which way the girls left. The clerk didn’t witness the theft, but a customer did. The store is reviewing the tapes.
Police car hits deer
A police car struck a deer in the left lane of the I-271 northbound express lanes while attempting to catch a speeding vehicle on June 4 at 1:43 a.m. The front driver’s side of the car sustained damage that left the car functional. The deer was not killed in the accident.
