Police Blotter: Woman Yells About Impolite Staring

A woman said she was walking with her children at 3:59 p.m. March 29 on Mayfield Road and saw a woman pacing near an old pickup. They said hello and the woman started yelling profanities. The woman told police that they were staring at her and that's why she yelled.

An employee closing a Mayfield Road business at 10:24 p.m. April 3 thought she heard noises on the roof. Police checked and said everything was OK.

Euclid police asked for help finding a baby that was taken from his mother in that city at 9:03 p.m. April 3. Relatives did not approve of the woman's lifestyle and took the baby and some of the relatives live in Mayfield Heights. Police questioned the relatives, who denied any involvement in the kidnapping. Euclid police called at 9:46 p.m. and said the people who took the baby came to the police station and the baby was returned to its mother.

A Ridgeview Road woman said at 3:02 p.m. April 3 that someone poured mustard on her car. She cleaned it off, but wanted special attention given to the area.

A cab driver stopped at a Mayfield Road bank at 4:03 a.m. April 3 to allow a passenger to get money. The man jumped out of the car and ran.

A woman said she backed into a car in the parking lot at Golden Gate Plaza at 5:48 p.m. April 2 and the people in the car were screaming at her. The other people left the scene before police arrived.

A Parker Drive woman called at 8:26 a.m. April 2 and said that when she returned home the previous day that it looked like someone had tried to pry her door open.

A caller said juveniles were shooting at geese with a rifle at 4:48 p.m. April 1 on Hidden Woods Trail. Police said the weapon was a BB gun and the juveniles were told that they cannot be shooting at geese.

A caller said a car was going the wrong way on Mayfield Road near Wal-Mart at 1:33 a.m. April 1. Police said the driver crashed the car, taking out a sign across from the west drive of Wal-Mart.

A man dressed in construction clothes was asking for money at 12:30 p.m. March 31 at Hillcrest Hospital. Police told the man to leave and he simply took his business to a spot in front of a restaurant. Police cited the man for solicitation and he went to get on a bus westbound on Mayfield.

Underage drinking was going on at a Crestwood Road house, a caller said at 9:54 p.m. March 30. Two juveniles were seen entering the house with two 12-packs of beer. An officer spoke to the resident, who said no liquor was being consumed by the friends of her son who were visiting.

A Golden Gate Boulevard hotel wanted an officer to stand by while a person was evicted from a room at 5:02 p.m. March 28. The occupants of the room had been warned about smoking marijuana once and were smoking again. Police told a man to leave and not return.

A Mayberry Avenue man reported at 8:02 a.m. March 28 that someone threw eggs on his house overnight. He said it has been an ongoing problem for two years.
