Police Blotter: Woman Said Date was Payback for Dispute with Neighbors

Information supplied by the Mayfield Heights Police Department.

A woman said a date was taking her home at 2:19 a.m. Dec. 1 on Golden Gate Boulevard when the man slapped the cell phone out of her hand and threw her up against a parking lot wall. She told police that he said the date was a setup from neighbors for everything she has done to them. She wanted her phone back and called it and the man, who is from Florida, answered and hung up. She also told police that she was going in for surgery in the morning. She was told it would be a good idea to have the phone turned off before going in for the surgery.

A Golden Gate Boulevard woman called 911 at 3:28 a.m. Dec. 1 and was crying, but did not say anything before hanging up. The woman called 911 again to let police know about her phone. She was told not to call 911 again or be charged with misuse of 911. The woman called police again at 4:07 a.m. because her attorney said to let police know she called by accident by trying to delete numbers from her phone.

A caller at 10:46 p.m. Nov. 29 said a man pulled a gun on him at a Marsol Road apartment building and it had something to do with his ex-wife's boyfriend. Police arrested a suspect.

A Marsol Road woman reported at 4:55 p.m. Nov. 28 that she received suspicious calls from a man claiming to be with "Crime Scene Investigators" and telling her she owed money. An officer called the number the woman provided and a man who would not identify himself said he was trying to collect on a $500 bill that was owed. The officer told him to stop calling the woman and the man hung up.
