Police Blotter: White Car Left Scene of Accident

A four-car accident with injuries was reported at 3:27 p.m. May 20 at Highland and Miner roads. A caller said the car that caused the accident left the scene. The white car headed east on Highland and was being driven by a woman.

A caller wanted police to help direct traffic out of the city park at 7:30 p.m. May 25. Because of a storm, everyone was trying to leave at once.

Police were told at 9:57 p.m. May 25 that a vagrant was sleeping on the back porch at a Bishop Road house. A car pulled up while an officer was there and the driver told police he used to live there and was still picking up mail because he was having trouble getting it forwarded to his new address.

A GPS unit and other items were taken from a cars May 25 at a Bishop Road residence.

A man walking northbound on Interstate 271 was screaming something at 8:58 a.m. May 25. The man told police he got into a fight with his girlfriend and she made him get out of the van near Wilson Mills Road.

An elderly woman hit a light pole at 1:20 a.m. May 25 at Wilson Mills and Ford roads. Her car was towed and she was taken to Hillcrest Hospital for treatment.

A Blakley Drive woman said a suspicious man in an older tan Pontiac was taking pictures of her home at 5:52 p.m. May 24.

Trash was piling up on a Bishop Road tree lawn, said a caller at 1:40 p.m. May 23. The caller said the resident moved out and piled trash up and the garbage company did not take it away.

A disabled car was on Interstate 271 southbound at 12:26 a.m. May 23 and officers were unable to find the driver. Keys were left in the car and the doors were not locked. There were also pliers and a wrench on the front seat.

A Wilson Mills Road store had a shoplifter at 1:49 p.m. May 21 and the woman was trying to get into her car and arguing with the loss prevention officer. Police arrested the woman for theft.

A Longspur Road resident called at 10:48 p.m. May 20 about a disturbance involving a large party with juveniles. The caller said juveniles were all over the street and throwing up in driveways. They might also be smoking marijuana, the caller said. Police went to the scene and talked to three juveniles on Longspur who were not causing a disturbance.  Police also said there was a continual line of traffic on the road due to parents picking up their children.
