Police Blotter: Tree Branch Took Down Electrical Wire on Summit

An electrical wire fell and was sparking on the side of a Summit Drive house at 10:47 p.m. April 4. A tree branch had fallen and took the wire down. The Illuminating Co. was called and said a crew would be out in one to two hours. Fire department workers said the line, which was on the garage, did not present a hazard.

A man was sleeping in a car at 1:16 a.m. April 5 on Landerbrook Drive. Police told the man, who is homeless, that he can't sleep there and would be arrested for trespassing if he didn't move along.

A man from Liverpool, OH called police at 6:36 p.m. April 4 and said he had not heard from his children,  ages 4 and 7, for more than a month. He thought they were living with their mother somewhere in Mayfield Heights. A database showed her residing on Marsol Road, but police checked and the apartment was vacant.

A Fairhaven Road resident requested special attention to his property at 2:20 p.m. April 4 after waking that day to find all of his landscaping lights strung up in a tree. He said no damage was done and he would call back if he had any further problems.

A water main break was reported at 10:45 a.m. April 4 on Summit Drive. The street was starting to cave in, a caller said. Service department workers were sent to the scene.

A Longridge Road woman called at 7:18 a.m. April 4 and said all the windows on her car were egged overnight. She said the car had been parked since 5 p.m. and she noticed the vandalism when she left for work.

A Mayfield Road man called at 9:19 a.m April 3 and said his wife was trying to get into his apartment. He said she just got out of rehab and was intoxicated. Police told him an officer could check on the woman, but could not force her to leave because she had established residency. The woman was let into the apartment to clean up and the man went back to work. They said they would work things out later.
