Police Blotter: Theft from House, Balcony Cookout and Suspicious Car

A suspicious car was driving around Commonwealth Avenue and Maplewood Road at 3:32 a.m. May 31. An officer pulled up behind them and the car took off and pulled into a driveway on Commonwealth. They did not know anyone on the street and were told to go home.

A Temple Avenue woman called police at 10:45 p.m. May 30 after noticing that and Wii, iPod and camera were missing. There were no signs of forced entry to the house.

An employee at the AT&T store on Mayfield Road called police at 5:02 p.m. May 30 after a man put a Bluetooth headset in his pants. The action was caught on video. The man was arrested and charged with theft.

A caller at 5:28 a.m. May 30 suspected that people were stealing catalytic converters in the parking lot of Gates Mills Place on Mayfield Road. He heard a loud machine that went under a car and then he heard scraping. The suspects were gone when police arrived.

A motorist saw flames at 10:07 p.m May 29 at a balcony at Marsol Towers Apartments on Marsol Road. A man on the top floor was using a grill and was told to put the grill out.

A Cleveland woman called police at 7:05 p.m. May 29 after having an argument with her boyfriend on Marsol Road. He jumped out of the car and took her phone and hair straightener with him. The man agreed to meet with an officer and give the items back.
