Police Blotter: Suspicious Man Looking at Houses was County Employee

Information supplied by the Mayfield Heights Police Department.

A Parker Drive resident saw a man in a bronze station wagon stopping in front of each house and writing something down at 9 a.m. Jan. 18. The man works for the county and was doing reappraisals on homes.

There was an accident at 2:13 a.m. Jan. 19 in the southbound lanes on Interstate 271. The driver of the car said another car hit him, but he had no information about the other car. He was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence.

Two adults and two juveniles were arrested at 12:29 p.m. Jan. 19 after they were caught shoplifting at on Mayfield Road.

Lightning struck a house at 4:48 p.m. Jan. 17 on Lander Road, a caller reported. Police said there was a power line down on the house and a fire was possible without a quick response. CEI was notified about the problem.
