Police Blotter: Service Workers Sent to Pick Up Dog Hit By Moving Truck

A caller at 11:44 a.m. Feb. 7 said a mover hit a resident's dog on Lander Road and fled the area. The caller said the resident did not want to wait for an officer and the deceased dog was in a plastic bag on the front steps. Service department workers were called to pick it up.

A man called police at 9:03 p.m. Feb. 9 about a disturbance on Mayfield Ridge Road. He said he was on the phone with a resident and she said her ex-husband was pounding on the door. There was an argument and the phone went dead, he said. Police checked and officers said there was no problem at the residence.

A Cleveland Heights woman told police at 1:19 p.m. Feb. 9 that she hit a parked car at Walmart earlier in the day and left the scene. She came to the police station and filed a report, but the victim had not contacted police.

A woman was heard screaming for a man to leave her alone at 12:48 a.m. Feb. 0 on Lander Road. The man said something about a knife and the woman said the man had a baseball bat. Police arrested the man and he was charged with domestic violence.

A Longridge Road woman called at 9:34 p.m. Feb. 8 to report problems with neighbors who were talking loudly and speaking ill of her.

reported at 10:16 a.m. Feb. 8 that a man responsible for an $800 theft was back in the store. He didn't take anything this time, but store management wanted to prosecute for the earlier theft and the man was arrested.
