Police Blotter: Service Department Workers Told to Watch for Bunnies

Service department workers were told at 5:45 p.m. Sept. 3 not to cut grass near the back door at the police station because there was a rabbit's nest with three small bunnies

Police went to a Meadowood Drive house at 2:32 a.m. Sept. 4 to find a missing juvenile. Officers saw juveniles inside the house, but they would not answer the door. Parents of the runaway boy called their nephew, who was at the house, and he let officers inside. They found the runaway and also turned over five other juveniles to their parents.

A caller at 4:40 p.m. Sept. 2 was concerned about a SOM Center Road woman with health issues who did not show up for work. Officers talked to the woman and told her to contact her employer.

A Thornapple Drive man came to the police station at 8:15 p.m. Sept. 1 because he didn't have phone or cable service and thought lightning might had blown out the system. He called his cable company, but they were unsuccessful in getting his service back. Police also called the company and impressed upon an employee that the elderly customer needs assistance and a phone.
