Police Blotter: Rough Day Driving

Police caught a Willowick man, 43, driving with a suspended driver’s license the afternoon of Aug. 24. The man was pulled over for a speeding violation. The driver was arrested and transported to the Gates Mills jail where he was processed on charges of excessive speeding, driving while under suspension, no driver’s license and drug abuse. The man was released after posting bond.
Bad accident: A Solon man was injured in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Mayfield Rd. and Chagrin River Rd. the morning of Aug. 21. The injured driver, 46, was transported to . The other driver, a 45-year-old woman from Coquitlam, British Columbia, was cited for operating on a posted closed roadway and disobeying a red traffic signal.
Another road mishap: A Cleveland woman, 45, was cited in a two-vehicle accident on SOM Center Rd. in the early afternoon of Aug. 23. She was cited for failing to maintain an assured clear distance ahead. No one was injured in the accident.
