Police Blotter: Residents Report Identity Thefts

A Gates Mills Boulevard man came to the station at 4:25 p.m. Feb. 3 to report fraudulent charges on his credit card. He said there were several unauthorized charges on the card in the past month.
A Brigham Road woman came to the police station at 7:58 a.m. Feb. 4 to file an identity theft report. She said an unknown person fraudulently opened a credit card account in her name.
A 65-year-old Willoughby man was cited for a red light violation after an accident at 5:45 p.m. Feb. 1 at Mayfield and Chagrin River roads. There were two cars involved in the crash and there were no injuries.

A car fire was reported at 11:16 a.m. Feb. 3 on Battles Road. Fire department personnel extinguished the blaze. The car's owner said the car likely overheated and caught fire as he tried to get it out of the ice-covered driveway.
An accident was reported at 6:15 p.m. Feb. 4 at Mayfield Road and Foxhill Drive. There were no injuries. A 53-year-old Chardon woman was cited for making an improper lane change.
